Collect learner feedback with the Feedback Widget
Course review usually stops at launch. The Feedback Widget keeps it going: it adds a "Give Feedback" button inside your course itself, so the people taking it in your LMS can send feedback straight into Review My eLearning. Their comments land on the exact slide they were looking at, in the same review queue as everything else.
Learners need no RME account, no login and no email address - and there's nothing to install in your LMS.
Who can set it up
The course's owner or uploader, from the course page in RME. (Developers and reviewers don't see this option.) The course needs an active review cycle, which every uploaded course gets automatically.
Set it up
Open the course in Review My eLearning.
Open the more-actions menu (the ... button, top right) and choose Feedback widget.
Set up the button your learners will see:
Position - any corner of the screen
Theme - light or dark
Button text - up to 30 characters ("Give Feedback" is the default)
Accent color - pick a preset or any custom color
A preview shows exactly what learners get. Click Download. RME downloads your course as a package with the widget built in. Upload that package to your LMS, the same way you'd upload any SCORM package.
That's the whole install. No code, no script tags, no LMS plugin.
Republishing? If you export the course again from your authoring tool (Storyline, Rise and so on), the fresh export won't have the widget. Come back and download a new copy from RME after each republish.
What learners see
While taking the course, learners see your feedback button floating in the corner you chose. Clicking it opens a short form that already knows which slide they're on. They enter:
A title and a description of the problem or suggestion
A category: Content, Audio, Video, Navigation, Graphics, Accessibility, Text or Other
Optionally a screenshot - which they can draw on, circling or arrowing the exact thing they mean
Then they submit and carry on with the course. There's nothing to sign up for and no personal details are collected. If your LMS passes the learner's name through SCORM, it's attached to the comment; otherwise the comment shows as "Learner Feedback".
When the review cycle ends, the button quietly removes itself from the course.
Where the feedback goes
Every submission becomes an ordinary RME comment:
Placed on the exact slide the learner was on, in the course's current review cycle
Tagged with the category they picked, with their annotated screenshot attached
Marked as New, so it flows through your normal statuses, assignments and exports like any other comment
The course owner gets a notification the moment it arrives
Included in comment webhooks (Zapier) like any other comment
Slide tracking works out of the box for courses built in Storyline, Rise, Captivate, Lectora and iSpring; courses from other tools use a generic tracker.
